ARTS SOCIETY Didsbury's Not For Profit Society of 2015!

The Mountain View Arts Society is a group of volunteers in Didsbury and the surrounding region who support the arts, whether by hosting events or facilitating in the promotion of artists, musicans, writers, and dancers in Mountain View County.
Contact any member of the Board of Directors if you would like to volunteer with the Society, or participate in one of our events.
We invite you to buy a membership in the Society and help us promote arts, culture and heritage in Didsbury, Olds, Sundre, Carstairs, and Cremona Alberta, and their surrounding communities.
Coming Events include the Art Show & Sale held during the Didsbury Trade Show in April and the Mountain View Arts Festival in September. Tell us your event and we'll help promote it too.

Alberta Culture Days
Host: Mountain View Arts Society
Description: Didsbury is a Pop Up Celebration Site for Alberta Culture Days. The Arts Society is hosting a full day of Indigenous entertainment - First Nations dancers, Metis dancers, hand drummers, storytellers, First Nations and Metis artisan market, Indigenous Comfort Food. Tipi on site. Helping raise awareness of the rich, diverse culture of our Indigenous peoples, and create community partnerships and family fun. Admission by donation.

Fall Fair
Host: Essentials for our community
Description: Community Fall Fair fundraiser for Essentials for our Community. Fall Fair Entries - Showcase your Best! Categories include: Best Pie***, Quilts, Jam/Jelly, Chili, Bread, Gluten free (one category for dessert, one category for bread), Garden Produce (categories for Best looking, biggest, and most unusual), and Flower arrangment. Competition Entry fee is by donation for ages 17, 16 and under free . *** All Pie entries must include a second pie of the same type to be auctioned off during the fair. ART Showcase: Categories include Paintings, Photography, and other Media. Age categories 5 and under, 6-9 yrs, and 10-16 years are FREE to enter with any pieces/media of their choice. Entry fee for artists age 17 is one piece of art to be auctioned off during the fair. Participants may enter in as many categories as they wish. Winners of each category will be announced later in the evening after the judging takes place. Senior's time runs in Multi Purpose room from 1:30-3pm, with food and great entertainment. Fall fair opens at 3pm in the Curling rink with many exciting entries, vendors, and a kids zone! A nominal admission fee of $5 per person/ $20 per family, will be charged at the door. ALL FUNDS RAISED GO TO SUPPORT ESSENTIALS FOR THE COMMUNITY'S FOOD CARD PROGRAM. There will be entertainment from 3pm -7 pm on the Multipurpose room stage, with food served from 5-7pm (meal is included with price of admission). Magic show by Ms. Cynthia at 5pm.
