Quilt Discovery
Host: Didsbury Historical Society
Description: Are you a quilter? Do you know someone who has a quilt with an Alberta connection? Perhaps you have one of your grandmother's that is special to you. If so, come to the Didsbury Museum and chat with the folks from the Alberta Quilt Discovery Project. While not an actual Documentation Event, they'll want to know if your quilt might fit in for an official documentation in Didsbury sometime in the future. Come with your questions! Should the time come, documentation of a quilt includes: * A detailed examination * An estimate of its age * Photographs * A personal history of the quiltmaker The Alberta Quilt Study Society aims to promote an understanding, appreciation and knowledge of quilt making and its heritage in Alberta and beyond. When quilts are documented, the information collected is shared with the Royal Alberta Museum and the Quilt Index, an international database of both historic and contemporary quilts. The next Documentation takes place at the Bearspaw Community One Room Schoolhouse Complex in Calgary. Come to the Didsbury Museum to see how you, and your quilt, might be able to participate. The society brings together textile and quilt scholars, academics and anyone with an interest in both the history and recent developments of quilting.

Passion Play
Host: Lutheran Church
Description: The Redeemer Lutheran Church is celebrating the Easter season with its yearly Passion Drama production on March 24 and 25, with their production, "I Am the Resurrection". The play sees the combined efforts of the cast and crew presenting the Easter story for audiences over the weekend. During the production, those watching will have the opportunity to join the cast on stage at key moments in the drama. It will move you, challenge you, and help you share in the story of the last days of Jesus Christ. The process for putting on the drama begins in January, where materials such as costumes, props, scripts and more are assembled and a cast is chosen. Two weeks before the show, the cast and crew undergo extensive practice of their lines, cues, and more. As in previous years, it is a living drama, with different things happening every year. It's an opportunity for the public to be witnesses and to relive the events of Easter. The Redeemer Lutheran Church is located south of the Ross Ford Elementary School and the Kinsmen Park.
Location: Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1500 23rd St Didsbury - 3 pm
