Headstone Cleaning
Host: Didsbury Cemetery Committee
Description: If these tombstones could talk, oh, the stories they could tell! The Didsbury Cemetery Committee does its part to make sure the stories of our early settlers buried in the Didsbury Cemetery are respected and maintained on an annual basis. That means that each spring, members gather to clean the headstones. They are joined by students from Didsbury High School, who are raising funds through the annual May Monarch campaign. This is a wonderful opportunity for residents to join in on the preservation of our history. Many families of those buried in our cemetery have moved on, and there may no longer be someone who can maintain their family headstones. This is where the Cemetery Committee comes in, and they welcome anyone in the community to help protect the final resting place of our community's settlers. Just bring a rag and a pail. Limestone, marble, granite, concrete and other materials are quite sensitive and are treated with great care. Cleaning takes place from 1 - 4 pm. For more information, please call Diana at 403-335-3445..

Advanced Pickleball
Host: Town of Didsbury Events and Programming
Description: You've been hearing a lot about Pickleball these days, and the Town has set up a program for all of us to try out. The fun happens from April 23rd to June 27th in the Didsbury High School Gymnasium. Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis, with the main difference being that you hit a perforated plastic ball over the net. You can play singles or doubles, but doubles is often the favourite. The game is relatively easy to learn and can develop into a face-paced, competitive game once you get onto it. It is a sport for all ages and abilities. Beginners' Pickleball will run from 7 - 9 pm on Mondays beginning April 23rd (except for May 21st, Victoria Day). Advanced Pickleball (3.0 ranking and above) runs on Wednesdays, also from 7 - 9 pm, beginning April 25th. Cost is $3/person per evening. Cash only.
Location: Didsbury High School Gym, 1515 - 15th Ave - 7 - 9 pm
