MtnView ArtsFestival
Host: Mountain View Arts Society
Description: The Mountain View Arts Festival runs September 7 and 8th. A showcase of all that is arts, culture, and heritage in Mountain View County. Various locations right in the heart of downtown Didsbury, including the Didsbury Museum, Didsbury Library, Didsbury Train Station, Elks Hall, Top Note Music School, Vintage Coffee House, plus Chalk Art downtown! Artists at Work at the Train Station, Vote for your favourite scarecrow at the Museum, Dress-Up and more, Bring your camera! Visit with Alberta artists. Local musicians too! Free parking. Scarecrows on Parade
Host: Didsbury Historical Society
Description: Scarecrows on Parade is a competition held during the Mountain View Arts Festival on September 7 and 8. 6 Categories. Children 11 and Under, Students 12-18, Families, Adults, Businesses, and Organizations. Construct a scarecrow and bring it to the Museum for a chance to win a cash prize. Let your creative juices flow! Scarecrows can be erected on our lawn the week of September 4 - 6. All scarecrows must be at the Museum by September 6th. For more information and set up assistance, call the museum.

Bench Fair
Host: Didsbury Historical Society
Description: Held in conjunction with the Mountain View Arts Festival, the Didsbury Library and Museum will be hosting the 2nd Annual Didsbury Bench Fair. Classes open for all ages: 5 and under, 6 to 12, 13 to 17, Adult, Senior 65 plus. Ribbons awarded. Items to be brought in before 12 pm on Wednesday, Sept 5. Items on view at both locations on Friday from 3 - 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am - 4 pm. Exhibitors, please pick up items between 4 and 5 pm on Saturday, September 8th. Pick up the Bench Fair Prize List at the Museum or Library, then enter. Challenge your friends!

Festival Concert
Host: Mountain View Arts Society
Description: The Saturday night concert features Heather Blush and the Uppercuts opening for AV (funk/soul project of Ann Vriend). AV is an award-winning performer and songwriter, having won the "She's The One" performance contest at the Ottawa Bluesfest, as well as the 2017 Cobalt Music Prize at the Maple Blues Awards for her gospel style ballad, "All That I Can". Heather Blush and The Uppercuts - Sassy, sultry, and just plain fun, these dedicated musicians perform original songs designed to knock your socks off! With energetic, audience-engaging shows, Heather is known for songwriting that covers all bases between witty sarcasm and gutwrenching honesty. Tickets for both shows are $25 per person.
