Indigenous Day
Host: Didsbury Historical Society
Description: Indigenous Day of Arts during Alberta Culture Days - Celebrating Alberta's "Month of the Artist", we are pleased to welcome Métis artist, Dennis Weber, also calling Didsbury home, and we are excited to have him as part of this cultural celebration. Dennis is considered one of Canada's foremost Métis artists. Jake Peters, an award-winning guitar and banjo-picker will be part of our celebrations. Performances with bouzouki, sas, oud, hand drums, Indigenous flute and ukulele, with a focus on the Plains Indian flutes. Tammy Heavenfire, will be running authentic, traditional Dreamcatcher classes. Doreen Bergum, the Métis Elder for the Homeland of the Métis Nation of Alberta Region 3, will be offering beading classes. Olds Métis Youth Dancers will perform outdoors.

Description: Stories, rhymes, and snacks! Drop in for this free program focused on fostering a love of reading. Every family gets a book to add to their library at home at the end of the five week session! Sponsored by ATB Financial

Description: This book sale features books from the collection of Frank Dabbs, donated to the Didsbury Friends of the Library in his honour. All proceeds go back into the Didsbury Library.
