The Mountain View Arts Society is a group of volunteers in Didsbury and the surrounding region who support the arts, whether by hosting events or facilitating in the promotion of artists, musicans, writers, and dancers in Mountain View County.
Contact any member of the Board of Directors if you would like to volunteer with the Society, or participate in one of our events.
We invite you to buy a membership in the Society and help us promote arts, culture and heritage in Didsbury, Olds, Sundre, Carstairs, and Cremona Alberta, and their surrounding communities.
Coming Events include the Art Show & Sale held during the Didsbury Trade Show in April and the Mountain View Arts Festival in September. Tell us your event and we'll help promote it too.

Culture Days, Trains
Host: Didsbury Historical Society
Description: The Great Railway Adventure - Showcasing the personal side to railroading and the way of life that still celebrates our country's heritage and history. There will be hands-on opportunities for the public to craft backgrounds for their own railroad layouts at home. The Model Railroad Club will run workshops throughout the day teaching train lovers how to make their own miniature trees, landscape scenery, and dioramas. There will also be a do-it-yourself component to this program, as social distancing will be front and centre in our program. Also, unveiling of the new Outdoor Garden Train, a permanent, large scale, outdoor model railroad with information placards enhancing the telling of the development of Didsbury and area following the arrival of the railroad in 1890. Via video, Professional storytellers (Betty Hersberger, Mary Hays, and Doreen Vanderstoop) have three different tales to tell: "Ghost Train" (the plight of Chinese rail workers who helped build Canada's trans-continental railway); "The Last Spike" (the story of the boy in the picture); and "Love and Tragedy - Cupid strikes at the 5th siding, Didsbury". And more! Donations graciously accepted.

Didsbury Fall Market
Host: Fall Market
Description: Join us September 26 from 10-4 at the Zion Church for the Didsbury Fall Market. Come check out the food trucks and some of your favourite potters, painters, woodworkers, glass artists, jewellers, crochet, knit and textile artisans, soap makers, candles, spices and so much more. With over 50 vendors the Didsbury Fall Market will have what you are looking for. The Zion Church is located on the east end of Didsbury, north side of Hwy 582 (20th Street).
